One of best ways to market yourself is with, you guessed it, business cards! Business cards are mini-billboards that you can carry in your pocket to help you advertise yourself to potential employers, clients, or business partners. You should begin to develop a business card that has these 6 simple key components.

1. Name

This seems very self explanatory but make sure that your name is bold and visible at the top of your business card. This is your name, so make sure that it is not getting lost with the other information on the card. Remember: The person who gets this card will more than likely stick it in a wallet, so make sure your name will catch their eye while they are browsing around.

2. Title

Your title can be anything from “Student at University of Texas at Austin” to “Aspiring Marketing Professional”. Be specific when it comes to your title so that people remember who you were when you first met. Reminder: When networking with people make sure that you say your title! This will help that person put a face to the card.

3. Phone Number and Email

Your contact info should include your phone number and personal email. Make sure that people are able to reach you!

4. Personal Identifier

A personal identifier would be a logo or name. This is usually included in the back of the business card. Your logo would be a great personal identifier to have! If you do not have a logo, placing your name would be a good idea as well. Are you are someone who has created a brand for yourself? Yes? Well you should include the name of your brand on the card!

5. Social Media

Social media is a great way for people to connect with you after they get your business card. Include anything from your Linkedin (you must have this), Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. Make sure that the profiles you list are professional and for the public to see!

6. Website

If you have a website that behaves as a portfolio for your work, include it as well! This is another great way for people to get to know a little bit more about you as an individual.
